Basketball Game Preview: Crosspoint Christian Wildcats vs. Sound Christian Lions

Crosspoint Christian is 1-6 against Sound Christian since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Crosspoint Christian Wildcats take on the Sound Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m.

Crosspoint Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 61 points on Saturday, they were much more limited against Neah Bay on Tuesday. They lost 48-25 to the Red Devils. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Red Devils are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, Sound Christian didn't have too much trouble with Forest Ridge Sacred Heart on Tuesday as they won 40-26. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Sound Christian pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.3 points per game. As for Crosspoint Christian, their loss ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-6.

Everything came up roses for Crosspoint Christian against Sound Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 60-25 win. In that match, Crosspoint Christian amassed a halftime lead of 33-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
