Football Recap: John Battle Comes Up Short + How To Watch

John Battle lost against Patrick Henry back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Trojans lost 61-38 to the Rebels. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (31), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Loss or not, John Battle got some senior leadership from Caden Sturgill and Marshall Green. Sturgill threw for 216 yards and three touchdowns, while Green rushed for 92 yards and one TD on only 12 carries.

John Battle's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Patrick Henry, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, John Battle will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Pioneers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Patrick Henry, they will venture away from home to square off against Rural Retreat at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
