Eaglecrest and Smoky Hill are an even 4-4-1 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Raptors will welcome the Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Eaglecrest came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 5-0 to Grandview.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Smoky Hill was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Cherry Creek, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Smoky Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Cherry Creek are ranked third).

Eaglecrest's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Smoky Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Eaglecrest came out on top in a nail-biter against Smoky Hill in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Raptors repeat their success, or do the Buffaloes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
