Volleyball Recap: Braelyn Adkins Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Sissonville

Herbert Hoover won the last time they faced Sissonville and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Huskies walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Indians. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Herbert Hoover took both sets by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-10.

Herbert Hoover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braelyn Adkins, who had eight digs and two aces. What's more, Adkins posted four assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Olivia Huddleston, who had nine digs.

They weren't the only good server: Herbert Hoover was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.

Herbert Hoover's win bumped their record up to 6-1-1. As for Sissonville, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Herbert Hoover has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Elkins on the 26th. As for Sissonville, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Nitro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Indians their first taste of in-conference action this season.
