Preview: Linden Patriots vs. Marion Rams
Linden is 1-6 against Marion since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Linden Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Marion Rams at 8:00 p.m.
Linden couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 57-41 to Southern Choctaw. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Linden in their matchups with Southern Choctaw: they've now lost four in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Malikk James, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kareem Rembert, who scored 10 points.
Meanwhile, Marion didn't have too much trouble with Calhoun on the road on Tuesday as they won 52-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Marion.
Linden's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Marion, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Linden was dealt a bruising 48-17 defeat at the hands of Marion in their previous meeting back in December of 2021. Can Linden avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
