Baseball Recap: Southeast Takes a Loss

Southeast had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it nine. They lost 11-1 to the Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Seminoles have suffered against the Falcons since April 16, 2019.

Southeast saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Enrique Pacheco, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Saint Stephen's Episcopal's side, Will Petretta looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gabriel Conn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Dylan McLeod also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Coming up, Southeast will host Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, they will square off against Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.45 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
