Soccer Recap: Cypress Creek Takes a Loss

After flying high against Oak Ridge last Wednesday, Cypress Creek came back down to earth. The Cypress Creek Bears fell just short of the Timber Creek Wolves by a score of 2-1 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Wolves are ranked 59th).

Cypress Creek's goal came courtesy of Andres Ortiz, which was the first he's scored this season.

Cypress Creek has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which is still a better percentage than their 3-11-1 record this season. As for Timber Creek, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-3-1.

Cypress Creek will challenge East River at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Timber Creek, they will be taking part in a tournament against West Orange at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
