Football Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Orosi's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Orosi unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 36-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Granite Hills Grizzlies. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Orosi still got an impressive performance from Jason De La Cruz, who rushed for 69 yards and two scores, and also picked up 61 receiving yards. De La Cruz is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Orosi's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Granite Hills, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Orosi will take on rival Corcoran at 7:15 p.m. on the 17th. Meanwhile, Granite Hills is set to square off against their familiar foe Strathmore at 7:15 p.m. on the 17th.
