Basketball Game Preview: Sunnyside Wildcats vs. Fresno Warriors

The Sunnyside Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Fresno Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sunnyside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Sunnyside didn't have quite enough to beat Roosevelt and fell 67-65. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from CJ Jones, who posted 27 points. Those 27 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Barnes, who had 18 points.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Fresno's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Hoover by a score of 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warriors have suffered since December 4, 2024.

Sunnyside's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-7. As for Fresno, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Sunnyside took their win against Fresno in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 76-50. Will Sunnyside repeat their success, or does Fresno have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
