Chicago Sky star off to historic start in the WNBA.

It's early but Elena Delle Donne could be putting together a season for the ages in the WNBA.

The 6-foot-5 Chicago Sky star leads the league in scoring, field goal percentage and blocks and is in the top five in free throw percentage and rebounds through nine games.

For those that have followed Delle Donne's career, it's not a huge surprise. She was a certified high school phenom at Ursuline Academy (Wilmington, Del.) and signed with juggernaut Connecticut before ending up at Delaware.

Last Wednesday against Atlanta, Delle Donne put up 45 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in an overtime win over Atlanta. She knocked down a WNBA record 19 consecutive free throws in the contest.

For the season, Delle Donne is averaging 31.6 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocked shots per game while shooting nearly 65 percent from the field.

Random thought on Delle Donne: We don't know her relationship status but how great would it be if she married Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Matthew Dellavedova – giving the world Elena Delle Donne-Dellavedova.

That needs to happen.
