Softball Recap: Wimberley Wins Going Away Against Canyon Lake

Wimberley won the last time they faced Canyon Lake and things went their way on Friday too. The Wimberley Texans were the clear victor by a 9-3 margin over Canyon Lake. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Texans.

Grace Strobel was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

In other batting news, Ella P was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Bailey Wright was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-13. As for Canyon Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Looking ahead, Wimberley will head out to square off against Bandera at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Wimberley is facing Bandera at the right time seeing as Bandera is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Canyon Lake, they will be playing at home against Navarro at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Navarro has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.82 runs per game on average), something Canyon Lake will no doubt try to take advantage of.
