Basketball Recap: Chester Takes Down Princeton in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Chester had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 42-34 victory over the Princeton Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Volcanoes: when they faced off against the Eagles back in January, they had to take a 45-37 loss.

Despite the loss, Princeton still got an impressive performance from Chris Roberson, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Roberson posted three blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Ramirez, who had 13 points and three steals.

Chester is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points over those games. Princeton's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.

Coming up, Chester will face off against Paradise Adventist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Paradise Adventist Academy will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something Chester surely won't give up without a fight. Princeton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
