Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Takes a Loss

Oak Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Fairfield Tigers and fell 79-30. While losing is never fun, Oak Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 437th, while Fairfield is ranked tenth).

Despite the loss, Oak Grove saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zyontae Hubbard posted 11 points.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21-1. As for Fairfield, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 24-3.

Oak Grove will challenge Pleasant Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Oak Grove is facing Pleasant Grove at the right time seeing as Pleasant Grove is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Fairfield has already played their next match (against Huffman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
