Baseball Game Preview: Rhea County Golden Eagles vs. East Hamilton Hurricanes

The Rhea County Golden Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the East Hamilton Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Rhea County easily dispatched Notre Dame on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Rhea County fell just short of Red Bank by a score of 9-7 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Golden Eagles have suffered since April 12, 2024.

Casen Kinney stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Jax Schmitt also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, East Hamilton entered their tilt with CSTHEA on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 10-3 win. Considering the Hurricanes have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Rhea County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. East Hamilton pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
