Softball Recap: East Newton Falls Short Against Ranked Diamond

East Newton faced Diamond in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. East Newton took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Diamond. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.

East Newton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. The victory keeps Diamond at an undefeated 9-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Newton will venture away from home to square off against Galena at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Diamond, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Diamond Wildcats challenge Forsyth Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
