Basketball Recap: Poly Extends Winning Streak to Four

Poly won the last time they faced Monroe, and JD Wyatt did his part to make sure it happened again. The Poly Parrots simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Monroe Vikings 86-31 thanks in part to Wyatt, who posted 31 points. His afternoon made it 28 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Ochoa Colin, who scored nine points. Those nine points gave him a new career-high.

The win was the fourth in a row for Poly, bringing their record for this year to 12-9. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 49.8 points. As for Monroe, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

Poly will face off against Verdugo Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Poly knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Verdugo Hills likes a good challenge. As for Monroe, they will challenge Grant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Grant's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
