Baseball Recap: Edison Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Edison waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They never let the Robbinsville Ravens get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered an 8-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Connor Murphy made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Edison is 7-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-9 otherwise. Murphy was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dom Innocenti, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Edison pushed their record up to 13-11 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Robbinsville, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-5-1.

Edison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Robbinsville, they will be playing at home against Wall Township at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
