Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Mansfield vs. Burr & Burton + How To Watch

The Mt. Mansfield Cougars will head out to challenge the Burr & Burton Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Mansfield is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Mt. Mansfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: St. Johnsbury Academy, who was ranked 25th at the time (Mt. Mansfield was ranked 17th). The Cougars fell just short of the Hilltoppers by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. Mt. Mansfield fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against St. Johnsbury Academy since Saturday.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Burr & Burton sidestepped Rutland for a 3-2 victory. Burr & Burton haven't had any issues with Rutland recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Mt. Mansfield now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Burr & Burton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.

Mt. Mansfield beat Burr & Burton 2-0 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
