League recap: Middle Creek extends winning streak with victory over Green Hope

Middle Creek extended the longest winning streak in 4A Tri-Nine this week by beating Green Hope, 30-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Middle Creek took down the Falcons 30-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Green Hope's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chris Tutwiler threw for 246 and one touchdown and Eddie Auslander had 76 yards receiving. On the ground Demetrius Massenburg chipped in 18 yards. Mitchell Chalker helped Green Hope's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 35 yards.

Kwame Dixon's team's Tutwiler and Chalker have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Tutwiler has thrown for 1549 yards this season, while Chalker, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 36 catches for 432 yards. Athens Drive's Dominique Lynch leads the league in rushing yards with 1059.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Mike Castellano's team takes on the Jaguars. The Mustangs are currently in first, while Athens Drive is in fifth.

Lee County led 4A Tri-Nine in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on Panther Creek.
