Softball Game Preview: Tulare Western Mustangs vs. Dinuba Emperors

The Tulare Western Mustangs will challenge the Dinuba Emperors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tulare Western fell victim to Mission Oak and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 11-0 to the Hawks. The game marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Dinuba was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Hanford, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Emperors have suffered against the Bullpups since February 29, 2020.

Dinuba saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiley Gomez, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Tulare Western has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-7-1 record this season. As for Dinuba, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.

Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tulare Western hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Dinuba struggles in that department as they've averaged .338. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
