Basketball Recap: Illini Bluffs Victorious

Illini Bluffs posted their closest victory since January 13th on Saturday. It was close, but they capped 2024 with a 40-37 win over the Prairie Central Hawks. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Hawks are ranked 407th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Illini Bluffs' victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Prairie Central, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Illini Bluffs will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Peoria Heights at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Prairie Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Thomas More at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Prairie Central is facing St. Thomas More at the right time seeing as St. Thomas More is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
