Basketball Recap: Avery Perk's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Riverside over Miami East

Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 49-25 to the Miami East Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Pirates have suffered since January 2nd.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Perk, who posted 11 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Miah Carman, who earned three points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Riverside's record is now 4-14. As for Miami East, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Riverside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-33 loss against Covington on the 1st. Miami East has also already played their next contest, a 45-37 win against Bethel on the 1st.
