Preview: Boerne vs. Davenport
Boerne is 6-0 against Davenport since February of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Boerne Greyhounds will head out on the road to square off against the Davenport Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Boerne is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Monday, Boerne beat Fredericksburg by the very same score they won with last week: 4-1.
Meanwhile, Davenport kept a clean sheet against Bandera on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the BULLDOGS with a sharp 4-0 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Davenport.
They hit Bandera with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Vincente Hernandez (2),
Enrique Padilla, and
Josh Atampi.
Boerne's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three games. As for Davenport, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Boerne took their win against Davenport in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 6-1. Will Boerne repeat their success, or does Davenport have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
