Baseball Recap: Menomonie Mustangs vs. Holmen Vikings
Menomonie couldn't beat Holmen on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Mustangs fell 10-5 to the Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-7 on Friday.
Max Erickson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Landon Mittlestadt, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Menomonie's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Holmen, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Menomonie will square off against Superior at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
