The Sam Houston Texans will take on the Bowie Volunteers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Sam Houston suffered their closest loss since December 19, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Arlington by a score of 47-44.
Despite the defeat, Sam Houston had strong showings from Terry Brock, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Rylan Austin, who scored 12 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Brock pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was D'Marion Davis, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Bowie came up short against Martin on Friday and fell 64-54. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bowie in their matchups with Martin: they've now lost nine in a row.
Sam Houston has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season. As for Bowie, they now have a losing record at 13-14.
