Volleyball Game Preview: Buckeye Hawks vs. Fairfax Stampede

The Buckeye Hawks will take on the Fairfax Stampede at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Buckeye is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Independence just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-2.

Buckeye took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 20-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Fairfax came up short against Metro Tech on Monday, falling 3-0. The Stampede haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Buckeye's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Fairfax, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Buckeye was able to grind out a solid victory over Fairfax in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Stampede have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
