Recap: Gilman Greyhounds vs. McDonogh Eagles
The Gilman Greyhounds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. The matchup between Gilman and McDonogh wasn't particularly close, with Gilman falling 21-7. Gilman has not had much luck with McDonogh recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McDonogh to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Green, who rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Jefferson Exinor jr also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Gilman bumped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.7 points per game. As for McDonogh, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Gilman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. McDonogh will be playing at home against Mount St. Joseph at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Mount St. Joseph is ranked 15th, while McDonogh is ranked sixth).
