Baseball Game Preview: Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs vs. Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets

The Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bloom-Carroll's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Mt. Vernon's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Bloom-Carroll came out on top against Pickerington North on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-2 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Mt. Vernon suffered their closest loss since April 11th on Friday. They fell just short of Hilliard Bradley by a score of 5-3. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mt. Vernon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Columber, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Bloom-Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Mt. Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
