The Garinger Wildcats struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Charlotte Catholic Cougars had 18 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Garinger took a serious blow against Charlotte Catholic, falling 71-30. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Garinger in their matchups with Charlotte Catholic: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the loss, Garinger saw an underclassman step up: Misa Garris scored 21 points. That was a full 70% of Garinger's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Charlotte Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Blanca Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted three or more blocks the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gracynn Gough, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garinger will take on Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Charlotte Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Butler at 6:00 p.m. Butler is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
