Softball Recap: Caro Victorious

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Caro and Laker had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Tigers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lakers on Friday, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 9th.

Brooklyn Osborn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Caro got a big performance out of Braylon Gutierrez, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave Gutierrez a new career-high. Shayler McIntyre was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

With the win, Caro broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-14. As for Laker, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

As of now, neither Caro nor the Lakers have any future games scheduled.
