Basketball Recap: Chandler Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Okemah, Chandler was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-44 victory over the Holdenville Wolverines. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 67-28 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Holdenville lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dah?Myah Olden, who went 8 of 19 en route to 17 points and eight boards. That was a full 38.6% of Holdenville's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Bella Smith was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Chandler is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Holdenville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Chandler will square off against Meeker at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chandler is facing Meeker at the right time seeing as Meeker is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Holdenville, they will face off against Hilldale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
