Volleyball Recap: Gloucester's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Gloucester walked away with it. They came out on top against the Denbigh Patriots by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Dukes, who have now won five contests in a row.

Gloucester's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grayson Shield, who had four digs and two blocks. Shield has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 13 times he's played. Hayden Simmons was another key player, getting 19 kills, seven digs, and three blocks.

Gloucester now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Denbigh, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

As of now, neither Gloucester nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
