Basketball Recap: Golden Extends Winning Streak to Three

Golden had won two straight games and Leif Hansen did his part to make it three on Thursday. The Golden Demons enjoyed a cozy 77-60 win over the Summit Tigers thanks in part to Hansen, who went 8 for 9 en route to 18 points and three steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game.

When it comes to explaining why Summit lost, don't look at Eduardo Gutierrez. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 21 on his way to 33 points. The dominant performance gave Gutierrez a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Lucas Comcowich, who went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points.

Golden has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Summit, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Golden will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Thomas Jefferson at 12:00 p.m. Thomas Jefferson will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Golden surely won't give up without a fight. Summit has already played their next match, a 74-35 defeat against Standley Lake on the 17th.
