Softball Recap: Terry's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

Terry barely beat Fort Bend Kempner the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rangers blew past the Cougars 17-2 on Tuesday. Considering the Rangers have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Angela De La Cruz was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Jocelyn Mendoza was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Terry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They are 7-1-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Terry's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12-2. As for Fort Bend Kempner, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Terry will square off against rival Randle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fort Bend Kempner is set to take on their familiar foe Fort Bend Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
