Basketball Recap: San Tan Foothills Comes Up Short

San Tan Foothills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 61-28 loss at the hands of the Payson Longhorns. The contest marked the Sabercats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Payson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Omar Fierro-Nava, who went 5 for 11 en route to 14 points and four steals. Fierro-Nava is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Landon Hansen, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

San Tan Foothills' defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Payson, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-12.

San Tan Foothills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-41 loss against Northwest Christian on the 23rd. As for Payson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 52-32 defeat against Snowflake on the 23rd.
