Basketball Recap: Mount Vernon Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

If Bellingham wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mount Vernon, they should've done a better job of containing Anaya Saldivar-Slater. The Mount Vernon Bulldogs came out on top against the Bellingham Bayhawks by a score of 46-36 on Monday thanks in part to Saldivar-Slater, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight boards and eight steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Mount Vernon's points.

Mount Vernon is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Bellingham, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Mount Vernon will head out on the road to challenge Sehome at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bellingham, they will welcome Sedro-Woolley at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
