Football Recap: Buena Sets Scoring Season-High Against San Marcos

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fillmore, Buena was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They secured a 47-41 W over the San Marcos Royals. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Buena had a senior duo take command as Blake Eberhard rushed for 142 yards and four TDs while picking up 7.5 yards per carry and Jaxon Roberts gained 256 total yards and three touchdowns. Roberts also set a new season-high mark in rushing yards with 184. Buena also got help from Tyler Jaitt, who showed off his sure hands for 88 receiving yards.

Buena was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 342 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

The victory got Buena back to even at 2-2. As for San Marcos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Buena will take on Agoura at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,016 yards in their previous games. As for San Marcos, they will face off against Santa Barbara at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
