Volleyball Game Preview: Kossuth Aggies vs. New Albany Bulldogs

The Kossuth Aggies will take on the New Albany Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kossuth will be strutting in after a win while New Albany will be coming in after a defeat.

If Corinth wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Kossuth, they should've done a better job of containing Brenyn Wilbanks. The Aggies were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Warriors on Tuesday for which the team can thank Wilbanks, who had five digs, five aces, and one block. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 17 or more assists the last 14 times she's played.

Kossuth walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-14, 25-18, 25-16.

Meanwhile, New Albany came up short against Walnut on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New Albany started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 25-19, 30-28.

New Albany's loss dropped their record down to 2-2-2. As for Kossuth, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Kossuth was able to grind out a solid victory over New Albany in their previous matchup back in August of 2023, winning 3-1. Do the Aggies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
