Rio Hondo Prep waltzed into their match on Wednesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Marshall Eagles by a score of 3-1. The Kares have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Rio Hondo Prep had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-23, 25-12, 25-20.

Marshall's loss came despite strong showings from Lena Lao and Harlem Castro. Lao had 12 digs and two aces, while Castro had 11 digs and two aces.

Rio Hondo Prep's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rio Hondo Prep will take on Flintridge Prep at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marshall, they will host Duarte at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
