Game recap: Casa Grande High School Football Team takes down Rancho Cotate

PETALUMA, Calif. - Casa Grande (Petaluma, Calif.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as JaJuan Lawson ran for a touchdown with with 4:00 left in the second quarter, bringing the team to victory over Rancho Cotate (Rohnert Park, Calif.) 42-13.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Lawson in the second quarter, the Gauchos led 18-13 at the half.

A 24-point fourth quarter solidified the win for Casa Grande, as it pushed the final margin of victory to 29.

Lawson played well for CG in the victory. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 11 touchdowns on the season.

The Petaluma school came into the game allowing 11.5 points per game.



The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which the Cougars took, 28-7.

In a North Bay game next week Casa Grande (7-0) takes on Ukiah, and Rancho Cotate (4-3) will go up against Maria Carrillo also in a North Bay game.
