Basketball Recap: Thomas Wolf's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Herlong over Surprise Valley

Herlong was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 51-43 to the Surprise Valley Hornets.

Herlong lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Thomas Wolf, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 17 points. Phillip Aguirre was another key player, going 5 of 6 en route to 12 points.

Leading Surprise Valley to victory were Casey Grove and Andrew Eichstadt. Grove went 8 for 20 on his way to 21 points, while Eichstadt went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points.

Herlong's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Surprise Valley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Herlong has already played their next matchup, a 54-47 loss against Big Valley on the 6th. As for Surprise Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-35 defeat against Chester on the 6th.
