Volleyball Recap: Lowry Buckaroos vs. Churchill County Greenwave

Lowry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Churchill County Greenwave. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Greenwave this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-1 defeat back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-17, 25-9.

Josie Jenkins paced Lowry's offense, picking up four kills. Jenkins got some help from Tessa Jenkins and her six assists. Tessa was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Churchill County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Destinee Tapia, who had five digs and three aces.

Lowry's loss dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Churchill County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Lowry and Elko will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Churchill County, they will welcome Spring Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
