Basketball Recap: Urbandale Comes Up Short

Urbandale lost against Ankeny back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Urbandale J-Hawks were outmatched by the Ankeny Hawks and fell 79-36. While losing is never fun, the J-Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Hawks are ranked 31st).

Urbandale has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Ankeny, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.

Coming up, Urbandale is taking a road trip to square off against Southeast Polk at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ankeny, they will be playing at home against Dowling Catholic at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Dowling Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Ankeny likes a good challenge.
