Baseball Recap: Oakland Has No Trouble Against Wilson Central

Oakland never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Wilson Central Wildcats with a sharp 13-0 win. The match marked the Patriots' most dominant victory of the season.

Jacob Galinat looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Patrick Freeman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Andrew Carver was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Oakland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.

Oakland is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-11-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Wilson Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakland will square off against Blackman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilson Central, they will take on Riverdale at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
