Basketball Game Preview: Amundsen Vikings vs. Crane Medical Cougars

The Amundsen Vikings will take on the Crane Medical Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Amundsen had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on Hyde Park with a sharp 51-27 win. The Vikings not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since December 28, 2024 (when they won 41-13).

Charlii Lopez had an outrageously good game as she shot 52% from the field on her way to 27 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Amanda Moxon, who earned two points along with nine boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Crane Medical took their contest on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 53-20 victory over Simeon.

Everything came up roses for Amundsen against Crane Medical in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, as the squad secured a 68-34 win. In that game, the Vikings amassed a halftime lead of 45-20, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
