Hersey's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Fremd Vikings 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted since April 26th.

Hersey's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chuck Meister, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run. Another was Bennett McNeill, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Hersey has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Fremd, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 26-3-1.

Looking ahead, Hersey will square off against Cary-Grove at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fremd, they will face off against Buffalo Grove at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
