Basketball Recap: Antioch Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Antioch had won six straight games and Jaiden Claybrook did his part to make it seven on Sunday. The Antioch Bears took down the Dickson County Cougars 75-60 thanks in part to Claybrook, who went 14 of 19 on his way to 35 points and eight assists. His morning made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ta'Khyian Whitset, who went 8 of 9 on his way to 19 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four).

Antioch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Dickson County, they moved to 9-3 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Antioch will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bell County at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. One thing working in Antioch's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. Dickson County will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Kirkwood at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
