Football Game Preview: Valley Rams vs. Elmore County Panthers

Two dominant signal callers in Caden Foreman and Gage Davis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Valley Rams will head out to challenge the Elmore County Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley has given up an average of 27.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Sylacauga by a score of 42-35 on Friday. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Aggies are ranked 209th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Foreman and Cj Franklin. Foreman had a solid game and threw for 169 yards and two TDs. Meanwhile, Franklin was balling out in the loss, rushing for 137 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 344 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Elmore County's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central of Clay County. The matchup was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Panthers couldn't quite close it out.

Elmore County's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Valley, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-2.

Valley came up short against Elmore County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 20-14. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
