Basketball Recap: Canton Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Divine Child wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Canton, they should've done a better job of containing Kessler Blakita. The Canton Cobras took down the Divine Child Falcons 61-42 on Friday thanks in part to Blakita, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds gave him a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Canton and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Divine Child, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Canton and Grosse Pointe South will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. As for Divine Child, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greenhills at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Divine Child is facing Greenhills at the right time seeing as Greenhills is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
