Softball Recap: Clayton Yellowjackets vs. Tucumcari Rattlers
After flying high against Logan last Friday, Clayton came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets lost 34-19 to the Tucumcari Rattlers on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Rattlers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Clayton got a massive performance out of Issabell Reed, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That stolen base was Reed's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Makaylee Blan, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Clayton now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Tucumcari, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 2-8 record.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rattlers beat Clayton by a score of 30-15 later that day.
